Sweaters and sets knitted by women in Bibi Mahro, Afghanistan

The women in the group, sponsored by us, Hope for the Babies International (HOBI), have been busy knitting in the past month and now distributed them in the Qhabelboy clinic.

This group of 10 women will knit sweaters and hats for babies. Once a month they will have a session with a health educator. The HOBI and OMAID Afghanistan team visited them today in Bibi Mahro, in outskirts of Kabul, Afghanistan.

Buying yarn today in Kabul, Afghanistan

We are starting a partnership with Omaid Afghanistan so that Afghan women can knit sweaters, socks, hats and blankets and get this way some employment. Today we had to go to a bazaar in Kabul to find suitable yarn for the baby items! They had nice colors but the quality was not really good, but we chose the ones that were softest. As we bought so much, a man helped with a wheelbarrow to take them to the car.

The Hope for the Babies International (HOBI) team was today in Kabul to distribute sweaters, hats, socks and blankets which had been knitted by women in Switzerland, Finland, France, USA and Austria!

Groups of women and individuals in different parts of the Netherlands are continuing their work and producing these warm and beautiful items for Afghan babies!  Dank je wel!!!
