" Vide-greniers" happening on Saturday 21 September in Grand-Saconnex, Switzerland

Come to "Vide-greniers" ( means "emptying attics") in the park at the corner of Rte de Ferney and Chemin Pommier in Grand-Saconnex, from 9-17. You will find lovely things for you and your family. There is also food available throughout the day. The benefit of the event goes to an association helping families who have children suffering of epilepsy. But "Hope for the Babies International" - HOBI  is there as well, promoting projects for survival of newborn babies and their mothers.

Knitters in Bibi Mahro, Afghanistan, participate in health education sessions

These sessions give the knitters information about pregnancy, delivery, infant health and development, so that they can learn themselves and become change agents in their families and communities by passing on these important and empowering messages.

These dozens of sweaters and hats and socks have been knitted by the ladies of CAD, Geneva and Seniors group of Bardonnex. Merci!!!

Meeting "Knit-a-bit"

We presented HOBI today to Ursina, an artist who has a very inspiring knitting atelier in Geneva, close to the main railway station. She is giving knitting lessons, both for beginners as well as to those who are advanced. We hope that some of her students could join our project at some point. Thank you, Ursina, for sharing our story with your friends.

Lovely blanket from Gauri

This lovely blanket was made in Delhi, India  by Gauri , who had followed HOBI on Facebook. She brought it with her to London, where she met her friend Manasi, who brought it to Geneva. Manasi donated it today to HOBi so that it will soon leave for Afghanistan! One of the amazing stories of HOBI! Thank you both!

Sweaters and sets knitted by women in Bibi Mahro, Afghanistan

The women in the group, sponsored by us, Hope for the Babies International (HOBI), have been busy knitting in the past month and now distributed them in the Qhabelboy clinic.
